The Washington Area Tennis Association WATA in Washington, DC and Maryland, is a 501c7 entity not for profit organization that was founded to promote tennis Age 18 and above Prior to WATA’s inception, Richard Gottfried began organizing World Team Tennis WTT leagues in 1991, which are now called Impact Team Tennis ITT as of 2023. The organization is actively involved in supporting local tennis events, including the DC Tennis Open » , which provides a platform for both amateur and professional players to compete and showcase their talents.
